2nd Annual LOL Summer Comedy Series
A big hit last summer, this comedy series brings together four directors and a cast of sixteen players. There's a little laughter, for everyone!
OPEN TO INTERPRETATION
This clever spoof on the Hansel and Gretel story gets some new looks as the actors give various interpretations: Shakespeare, soap opera, Dragnet and others.
3 AM WAKE-UP CALL
Bob has just been called to an empty parking lot at three in the morning by his friend Bill. Bill has had himself one wild evening and the more Bob (and the audience) learns about Bill's exploits the more comedy ensues.
MY SCALE IS LYING
When a woman brings her bathroom scale back to get a refund, the clerk is stunned to realize that the scale doesn't display weight––but words. Soon another customer is wrapped up in the scale’s declarations and an entanglement is discovered. After the truth is revealed the weight of this payback may just break the scale.
FRUIT SKINS
Harold’s had a long day at work, and he’s in the mood for confrontation when the overpriced fruit at a local fruit stand pushes him right over the edge! He demands a price reduction from Norman, another shopper gets involved, and an unexpected interruption turns the whole situation on its head. A lighthearted comedy of errors that will keep you guessing until..
MARRIAGE AFTER DEATH
Vincent is dead. Quite dead, actually, and he's okay with that. Really. What he is not okay with is that they have buried him between his first wife who died 25 years ago and his current wife who died with him in the car accident. Spending eternity in the ground with one of them would have been all right, but with both? With the two of them comparing notes?
ABBOTT AND COSTELLO
In this new take on Abbott and Costello’s famous comedy skit “Who’s on First,” two teenage performers try, rather unsuccessfully, to rehearse a scene for their drama class. What they succeed in performing is a hilarious scene full of wit and comedic miscommunication.
I LIKE ART
Frank and Harry bump into each other at a gallery opening and begin a conversation about art. When Frank announces his desire to go to Japan to study Noh Theater, Harry misunderstands and is led to believe that there is no theater in Japan. The play is an homage to Abbott and Costello's "Who’s On First."
