Television writer Doug Pearson retreats to a Palm Springs bed and breakfast with his girlfriend, hoping to revive a stalled passion project, but chaos erupts when his agent arrives with a major deal and a hidden affair. The inn’s former owner, ghostly legend Gloria Swanson, intervenes alongside Carole Lombard and Billy Wilder, guiding Doug through deception, ambition, and love, pushing him to confront truth, reshape his future, and rediscover his creative voice at last fully.

Our Mere Mortals

DOUG (DOUGLAS) PEARSON: 30s. His boyish good looks and simple ways emanate a good-natured naiveté.

NELSON WHITFORD: 50s. High energy, our gay resident Inn Keeper with colorful clothes and a screenplay in his back pocket.

BRAD LIBERMAN: 40s. Doug’s smarmy, self-absorbed, slightly overweight agent.

HALEY GILMORE: 30s. Doug’s calculating, egocentric girlfriend who is perfectly wrong for him.

ROSE: 20s, petite, wide-eyed, natural beauty. She’s enthusiastic, passionate, curious, and friendly.

Our Ghostly Visitors

GLORIA SWANSON: Petite, glamorous, and legendary host of all things Old Hollywood. Back in the day, Gloria was known as a woman who got things done. Even on the other side, things haven’t changed.

BILLY WILDER: One of the most prolific writers and directors of the golden age of Hollywood. He’s a bit cantankerous and opinionated.

CAROLE LOMBARD: The carefree and playful platinum blonde Bombshell. She vibrates with life, passion, and abandon.
